HOUSE ON FIRE

"In every instant there’s a dying and coming back around. Muhammed said this world, it’s a moment, a pouring that refreshes and renews itself so rapidly it seems continous, as a burning stick taken from the fire looks like a golden wire when you swirl it in the air, so we feel duration as a string of sparks." -Rumi

House on fire is an entertainment venue that has been built with blood and sweat for over 8 years. Remixing local and international artforms, mosaic and soapstone combinations create a cosmic blend of form and colour. An African Shakespeare style theatre holds the centre of the house/galllery/theatre/venue while an outdoor stage looks outwards to the mountains. A very vibrant team run the operation which host one major event a year, namely the Bushfire Festival 29-31 July 2009
